Consumer sentiment eased in July, but remains at a strong level overall. Once we adjusted for seasonality, confidence lifted to the highest level since September 2014. Both point to a healthy pace of spending-based activity. House price expectations cooled further, especially in Auckland.

The monthly Roy Morgan Indonesian Consumer Confidence Rating is based on 2,140 face-to-face interviews conducted throughout Indonesia, not just a handful of cities. The survey includes the Top 22 cities, smaller cities and towns as well as many more villages in the rural hinterland, reflecting all of Indonesia. Women & men aged 14 and over were randomly selected during the month of May 2017.

ANZ-Roy Morgan New Zealand Consumer Confidence up 3.9pts to 127.8

Consumer sentiment lifted in June, the second consecutive increase. An uplift in confidence points to more spending-based activity. While housing market momentum is slowing, there is still plenty for consumers to smile about: jobs, a high NZD that’s keeping prices down, and the Government’s $2 billion family package injection, to name just a few.
